Choose Renewable Wind Power As A Viable Energy Source

Wind Power

“Here are a few good reasons to consider using wind power.

As electric companies start to charge people more and more for power the cost of wind energy is zero except for the installation and minor maintenance costs.

These are small prices to pay compared to the costs for power from the utility company and is worth it just for the simple fact you don’t have to worry about power outages again.

Companies are starting to make these turbines more efficient thus making the cost of installing and hook-up go down.

However, the reasons why people are moving away from the traditional energy sources are varied and not always financial.

Many people are taking advantage of alternative energies like wind power because of political views and concerns of possible terrorist strikes or natural disasters that could leave them without power for long periods of time.

The point is it’s nice to be self-sufficient and in most states you can even sell excess power back into the grid. Many people are concerned about their impact on the environment so they have resorted to green renewable energies.

Whatever reason you have for choosing wind power is a good reason and you now want to think about how to implement a wind power system.

The answer to saving thousands of dollars in installation costs.
With just a little bit of motivation and effort someone could build their own wind power turbine, and in most cases for less than two hundred dollars.

There is plenty of information on the internet scattered about within forums and blogs that could help guide someone in constructing their own wind turbine.

I would like to warn anyone reading though that you should be careful in avoiding misleading plans that could leave you stressed and out of pocket.

These systems pay for their selves quickly and deciding to go off-grid was probably the best decision I ever made personally.

They will pay for themselves even quicker if you plan on constructing it yourself. I think doing it yourself is a great experience, it saves thousands of dollars, and its fun for the whole family to get involved.

Selling your extra unused power back to the electric company
Most states are now allowing homeowners to sell their excess power back to the power companies.

They actually will come and hook up an electric meter on your house that rolls backwards allowing you to sell them energy. I always like to think of it as me selling my neighbors some of their power they use.

I’m sure you know that most electric companies think it’s unfair to them that they should pay retail rates for energy to a private individual homeowner, but oh well that’s not our problem.

They think you should pay them retail but they should be able to pay you wholesale for your green clean power that’s being generated. As you can see they are more concerned about their profits than about our future or the environment.

The government is in the same ”love boat” as these companies because these big corporations is where the politicians get a lot of their campaign money.

It may seem too expensive to most people to invest into the wind power generation. In all honestly I think we should be thinking about our future when considering the impact of the environment compared to costs out of our pockets.

We should be thinking about the long term and not the short term. Home wind power can be a viable alternative energy source.

Wind power energy systems will start to become more widespread in the future due to the natural rising energy costs of fossil fuels. The wind power systems will start to seem more attractive to home buyers and home owners in an environmental point of view, and in a financial point of view.

For the home owner, building a homemade wind turbine from a good blueprint could be something that eventually results in a largely reduced or even non-existent power bills.
